Marriage Proposal of the Day: Shelby Fetsch thought her boyfriend, Spc. William Johanson-Kubin, was still stationed in Afghanistan. So when she threw out the first pitch before the St. Louis Cardinals’ game against the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday night, the last thing she expected was for the catcher to propose…
Don’t miss the video.
I WAS THERE. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL.
Welp, this just made me cry…
It’s Josh’s B-day!! We’re celebrating at Disney and taking lots of photos to share with you!!!!
Check out our new animal in the Open Sea exhibit! People have long speculated about the existence of a living Plesiosaurus—and now we have one!
Four flipper-like appendages propel it through the water, while a long neck, snakelike head, and wide mouth armed with sharp teeth make it perfectly adapted to catching soft-bodied mollusks and small bony fishes. Some scientists have suggested that plesiosaurs had social family structures similar to whales and dolphins, and this makes it a perfect addition to the Monterey Bay Aquarium!
I have officially entered the “I just don’t care, throw it away” phase which is probably my favorite part…

Looking forward to the “Jellies Experience,” which opens March 31? The upside-down jelly is one of the species you’ll see! In its infancy this jelly flips upside down and settles on the bottom of shallow lagoons and mangrove forests – both threatened ecosystems – in the Indo-Pacific, the Caribbean and Hawaii.
It has eight thick oral arms (or mouth arms) instead of tentacles, but both function the same. It hosts symbiotic algae, zooxanthellae, which give it a brownish tint and produce food by photosynthesis.
We cultivate many of our jellies behind the scenes, as you can see here with Senior Aquarist Wyatt Patry.
